¶ Astral challenge is a brand new type of a gate, unique both in the construction process, and in the difficulty level.
WARNING: THIS GATE IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, THERE ARE NO SECOND CHANCES, AND THE GAME SUPPORT WILL NOT RECOVER YOUR GATE IF LOST!!
¶ Construction process
In order to activate the astral challenge - pilots need to obtain 7 unique parts. These can be acquired in two ways:
- By completing galaxy gates - the gates alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta and kappa each drop their unique part used for astral challenge gate construction - but beware! The drop is not guaranteed. Once a part is obtained from a specific gate, user cannot obtain further parts from it. (User completes alpha gate and gets part - alpha will no longer drop any more parts)
- By completing the "Stairs to Astra" daily mission quest line. Each mission rewards you with a unique - one time use assembly recipe. Once used, the part given is always unique. Cost of each part is 50,000. Once the recipe is used, it will disappear after crafting, till you obtain another one. The crafted part does not use any galaxy gate "unique slot" - for example, you can do 6 missions, and one - any, gate to obtain the remaining part.
NOTE: If you get two recipes, you will be only able to use one (NOT STACKABLE)
Once users gather all 7 parts - they can place their gate on the homemap (x-1), you will be provided with only one life.
The gate is repeatable (You can build as many gates as you want)

In this gate, the difficulty of each phase is very hard - except the first 6 phases, which serve as a warm-up. You can expect various challenges, from the standard defeating of all enemies, to base defense, to maze crawling - be ready for anything!

- A special variant of the gryphon ship, only obtainable by successfully completing this challenge.
- Can be scrapped for 300.000 QRB-101 (X4) laser ammo.
¶ Missions
As mentioned, there are 7 new daily missions called "Stairs to Astra" which allow you to build the gate.
On top, there is also a brand new standard mission - "Age of Enlightenment" which provides a special ace point, and a special module, to enhance the look of your G-HE4V3N!
¶ Tips:
- Some waves are time limited, running out of time will result in instant death.
- Make use of the zoom out feature in maze sections, to try and navigate faster.
- Make sure you always defend your base - if the base is destroyed, you will lose.
- Watch out for laser ammo resistive enemies (Special glow around their ships)!
- All waves are extremely difficult, always make sure you have the best equipment, ammo and boosters available at all times.
- Focusing the correct enemy can be the key between defeat and a victory.
